Rare WWII SOE Forged Food Ration Stamps

This is a sheet of 50 ration coupons for 50 grams of bread forged by the British Political Warfare Executive (PWE) in collaboration with the SOE as part of their administrative sabotage black propaganda operations. These were dropped by RAF bomber command over Germany throughout 1944. The coupons were only valid until the 6th of February, but the German government extended their validity, so the RAF continued to drop them for the rest of the year. Despite being dropped in large numbers, very few survived the war. The penalty was death for any German citizen caught using these coupons. Reich Propaganda minister Josef Goebbels announced that they were clumsy fakes and could be easily detected to discourage making use of these "presents from the skies". In actuality, the forgeries were near perfect even mantching the watermarked paper closely. Despite warnings of severe consequences, many Germans did indeed make use of the coupons.
