Exquisite Bronze Musketeer

An exceptional 19th century bronze, on original wood pedestel.
Overall height is 18 1/2", the figure measuring 14 1/2".
The musketeer is carefully priming his matchlock gun.
The expression on his face conveys the care he is exercising, not to waste the precious powder.
He carries about his shoulders a bandolier of individual loads, patrones, a type of primitive cartridge.
The patina is first rate, the features of his face, clothing and gun are accurate and finely portrayed.
In a word, he is an absolute masterpiece.
Currently on tour with a display of european weapons from the owner's private collection.
