WWI German Granatenwerfer Model 1916 Mortar
The Granatenwerfer 16 was classed as a spigot mortar.
It was manufactured by Alfred Wolff, Berlin,
and also with other companies.
It was valued by the front line troops because of its straightforward design
and its excellent fragmentation effect of the shells.
Max Range : 350 meters
Min Range : 50 meters
Total weight : 38 kg
Distribution : 1916 , 12 per infantry regiment , doubled in 1918
Personnel : 2 persons
Ammunition : special grenades (1.85kg) which bounce
back into the air after impact to explode one fraction later, signal rockets.
