Antique Thornton Pickard Camera
This is called a half plate camera...
It was purchased in 1901 by one John Eccles, a professional photographer from Winnipeg Manitoba.
The camera has leather bellows (slight damage, see photos).
The body of the camera is of mahogony, with brass trim and adjustments.
This camera was originally mounted on a tripod.
An old surveyors tripod might work nicely...
This camera comes with it's original leather and canvas carrying case.
Accessories include two sets of mahogony film plate holders, each holder once containing two
films, (some still do). The plates are numbered with ivory disks.
Each plate measures 8 1/2" x 5 3/4".
Also included, are two lenses and various filters.
When open, the camera measures 16" x 10" x 10 1/4".
The camera folds up compactly to fit in the storage case.
The model of the camera is a triple victo.
