WWI Caltrop

Here's a type I've not com across before. I purchased this one out of the UK. It was reportedly recovered from a British trench on the Somme. Although it has overall pitting, it really is quite excellent. I would assume the hole in the center was to enable the transport of a few dozen on a wire until ready for dispersal. It measures 2 3/4" in height.
