OSS Tire Spike / Caltrop

These are the flat metal style caltrops or tire spikes used by the OSS and resistance forces against German military traffic. Spread liberally on roadways and runways, these devices burst tires and caused timely delays. This is a particularly rare type of several varieties made. It is an interesting field where more research is needed, as new types keep turning up as individual collections become public.
