Watchmakers Calipers?

I'm not sure whether these are fro a watch maker or some other precision work. The calipers are very well made, and very old. The frame is steel, while the scale material is brass. The calibration measures down to 1/10 of a milimeter, finer than a human hair. The overall length of the instrument is 6 1/2". I see no maker's mark, but certainly European and 19th Century.
