Auction Action!

Imagine an auction that attracts bidders world-wide. You set the reserve price, and you are not obligated to sell unless your reserve price has been met. Buyers add shipping expenses to the purchase price. You hold your item until you receive payment for it. Reasonable commissions are charged for the service, equal to or lower than local auction services that serve only the immediate area. Collectors have discovered on-line auctions, and enjoy the convenience of searching the world for items they want, from the comfort of their own home. It's a beautiful thing.

We can run an auction for you even if you do not have a computer at home. You will be updated regularly by phone as the auction progresses, and be notified of the results when it ends.

We primarily use ebay Inc. to run our auctions. Ebay is the largest on-line auction going. On any given day you can find over 3 million items for auction in over 4 thousand catagories. Ebay has a fantastic search engine to help buyers find items in an instant.

We have established a good record of "feedback" under our seller name, Crazybeav. Feedback is encouraged at the end of a deal, and is recorded by the seller/bidder name. At anytime you can review a seller's or bidder's feedback and read reviews of past transactions. Simply click on the number behind the seller/bidder name. This is what keeps everyone honest. Too many bad reviews and no one wants to deal with you.

Running an auction

Getting your auction going on-line is easy. Just write up a title and description for your items, either on paper or in word pad on your computer. Keep in mind the title should include keywords. These are words people might search for, bringing up your listing. Descriptions should be honest and complete. Include measurements, and condition of the item. Be brutally honest and describe any damage. (We don't want returns or complaints in long distance transactions.) Include your reserve price for each item you have listed. We prefer not to sell items under $50, but make exceptions on occassion.

Give us a call

Once you've prepared your list of items, give us a call. We will arrange a suitable time to visit you and take digital pictures of the items you wish to auction. Auction items are moved and handled as little as possible avoiding mishaps prior to the sale. We pride ourselves in providing good quality photos of the items we auction. Pictures are a crucial factor in selling your items on-line. When we have photographed your items, we collect your descriptions and return to the office. There we edit the photos, and prepare your descriptions for the on-line listings.

Showtime!

You choose the days to run your auction. We usually run a 7 day auction, but you have the option of running it for 3, 5, 7 or 10 days. Auctions are begun and ended in the evenings when we believe most potential customers are at home and in front of their computers. During the auction, we may receive email asking for certain details on your items. When this happens, we will give you a call, you provide an answer, and we forward it to the interested party.

End of auction

When the auction ends, we make contact with the high bidder and establish their shipping address. Once we have this information, we provide a quote to ship the item and it is added on to their purchase price. You determine method of payment. Cashier's checks and Internationa M.O.s are usually preferred. Payments come in your name. Now you wait until the payment arrives.

Shipping

Once you have received your payment it is time to ship the item. Pack the item as if they were going to kick it out of a plane over it's destination! Use styrofoam packing peanuts, bubble wrap, and stiff cardboard boxes to help prevent shipping damage. More fragile items should be double boxed. Shipping should be prompt once payment is received.

Your cost to run an auction

Listing fees for each item vary from 30 cents US, to 2 dollars US, depending on it's value. This is non-refundable whether the item sells or not. We only charge the actual fee ebay requires. Putting a reserve on your item costs an extra US dollar, but is refunded if the item sells. Ebay takes a small percentage for commission on items sold, from 1.5% to 5% depending on the selling price. Adrax charges 15% commission only on items sold. PST and GST are added to the listing fees and Adrax commission, not ebay's commission. You will receive one bill with all charges itemized.
